frequently asked questions

How much is shipping?

Shipping is free for orders over $300 when you enter the code FREESHIP. All Australian orders under $300 will pay $12 in shipping or $27 for international orders. If you wish your order to be sent express an added cost will be incurred. Please get in touch if you require courier or express.

How do I care for my new handwoven item?

All items purchased from Billie Jo are made with natural fibres: merino, linen, silk or alpaca. All items can be gently hand washed in tepid water with a dash of natural soap or a delicates detergent, rinsed, then gently squeezed of excess water and laid flat to dry, out of direct sunlight. All items are pre-washed so no shrinkage should occur. Darker colours may gently fade with repeated washing, but colours should not run.

LINENS: If your handwoven item is 100% linen you can machine wash in cold, line dry and warm steam iron as desired. Any table linens that have spills can be soaked in hand hot water with a natural soap to help remove potential stains (no bleach, or oxygen whiteners). Linen softens with repeated use. It may feel a little crisp at first but will get softer the more you use it, accentuating the well known, beautiful drape of high quality linen.

Do not machine wash any handwoven items with wool, silk or alpaca!

Do not tumble dry any handwoven items!

Can I return my order?

Please consider how much you desire the item you purchase as there are no returns for change of mind. If the item is faulty upon arrival, please get in touch within 3 days of receiving it and arrangements can be made for either a repair or replacement as outlined by the ACCC guidelines. However, please remember that each item is handmade and therefore does not have a seamless finish like machine made cloth. Occasional skips can occur in the weaving process, which are very hard to spot and will not affect the quality or durability of the cloth. Things such as these are what make handwoven cloth unique!

Why does made-to-order take so long?

Items that are made to order take 3-6 weeks until delivery, primarily due to the slow nature of the weaving process. With only one set of hands and one major loom to make your order, there can be added wait time due to either the size of the order or if another order is being finished off. Billie Jo will email you a confirmation of your order and give you an estimated time. Please feel free to get in touch if you would like to make a custom order or just want to chat before purchasing.
